Stanford, an aircraft mechanic for Allegheny Airlines, will be competing
in the mid-western Continental 5000 events. He has been a sometimes
competitor in the series since 1969, his best finishes at Sebring in
1969 and 1970 when he placed 10th. He began racing in 1964 in a
Triumph and until late 1969 competed in Triumphs and Morgans in
SCCA National and Regional events. In addition to selected L & M
Continental races this year, he will also be racing the McKee in
Nationals.
